Roger Hol planted his first Similkameen vineyard in 1996. Coming from generational farmers, grape growing came naturally –– and the journey into agri-tourism began! By 2008 Similkameen Wild Vineyard was being planted, the rows of vines precisely laid out so as to create a giant wine glass visible even from outer space!
Wine needs a glass. Different shaped glasses unlock different nuances in wines. Our glass is the earth, making the iconic shape an obvious choice. Our giant wine glass is a testament to our commitment of honouring the Similkameen soil and reconnecting people to the land: to taste its rewards, bond with others, and engage their senses to this special place.
Similkameen Wild Vineyard grows a variety of grapes: Cab Franc, Merlot, Cab Sauv and Viognier. 2013 marked our first full year of operation with 800 cases of Similkameen Wine. We believe that nurtured grapes will naturally become great Similkameen Wine. Using the old-world methods of wine making that have been around for thousands of years, our wines are meant to be sipped, savoured and, most importantly, shared!
2014 Vigorous Viognier: $26.50 per bottle
Produced from our estate grown grapes in the most southern part of the Similkameen River Valley, our Vigorous Viognier is a product of pure love. Its lipsmacking freshness is bursting with concentrated notes of honeysuckle, stone fruit, and aromatic jasmine. Naturally fermented to capture the subtle flavors, this lush and textured wine pairs well with spicy Italian delicacies and rich, creamy seafood dishes.
2017 Rejuvenation Red: $65.25 per bottle
A Co-fermented blend of Cabernet Franc, Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon, this dark, ruby red wine is made with a traditional old world flair, spending 36 months ageing in Oak Barrels. Full bodied and robust, this small lot wine is perfect company to a hardy meal, dark chocolate, or simply by itself at the end of a good day.
